Poetry Evening (online)
TBC August 2020, 7:30pm
This event was organised for the 6th August but unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we have had to delay it. We will update this page as soon as possible.

The event will start at 7.30 pm but you will be able to connect to it from about 7.10pm. Please e-mail Mike Medhurst  (the group’s secretary) on medhurst.michael@yahoo.co.uk for the details of how to connect to the poetry reading online. Ipswich group members will read a poem that they have chosen themselves or that has a human rights theme. There will be a break in the middle and the event is likely to last about 90 minutes including the break.

Please email medhurst.michael@yahoo.co.uk to join! We will be reading favourite poems on Microsoft Teams. You do not need a Teams subscription, but your experience may be better if you download Teams and set up your account in advance of the evening.

We are holding this event partly to raise funds as we cannot hold our usual town centre and supermarket collections due to the coronavirus. We are therefore asking if you could give a donation of say £5.00 at the end of the readings. There is a “Just Giving” website that will be available for this or you can send a cheque to Michael Medhurst, Friends Meeting House, 39 Fonnereau Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 3JH. The cheque should be made payable to “Amnesty International Ipswich.”
